About
Our Story
Lynne Burns Recovery Coaching, LLC began with the belief that two people in recovery talking face to face is the best starting point for someone’s recovery journey. After 10 years in Recovery, Lynne made a career change and decided that she would like to use what she learned in Recovery to support others struggling with addiction.
Every human being is deserving of love and belonging simply by existing. Recovery Coach Lynne uses unconditional positive regard, nonjudgmental support, and open-mindedness to help Recoverees explore and create their own, personalized Recovery. Lynne shares resources, teaches coping mechanisms, and lovingly helps Recoverees navigate the successes and challenges of Recovery. Recoverees are never pushed to do anything they don’t want to do and our program is never punitive in nature. Abstinence, Moderation Management, and Harm Reduction are all pathways that will be honored and supported wholeheartedly.
Lynne brings over 4 years of in-home addiction treatment experience to her Recovery Coaching role. She is a certified IHAT (In-home Addiction Treatment) Practitioner, has completed Recovery Coach Academy Part 1 and 2 and is certified in CPR and Adult Mental Health First Aid USA. Lynne has also received a Certificate of Achievement in “Using Mindfulness/Meditation in Addiction Recovery”. Before becoming a Recovery Coach, Lynne had a career in Science for 18 years. This knowledge of Science is instrumental in helping to reduce shame by educating Recoverees about addiction.
Lynne started her own Recovery from addiction in 2011. Through service work in Worcester, she met other people in Recovery and felt understood and supported for the first time. Life began to feel fulfilling, hopeful, and full of incredible beauty. Gratitude filled each moment. Love and belonging filled her heart, and she decided to pour this love into other people struggling with addiction through Recovery Coaching.
